Letter from Social4Good Chair
Celebrating Social4Good’s Second Year!
While COVID isolated us from each other, it also created unprecedented need in our community – and we responded! Beginning with our fun, socially-distanced August kickoff at Wolf Trap through the powerful June social at Fogo de Chao, each of you generously supported a movement with six Rules of Engagement and made it happen!
Our amazing results speak for themselves!
Social4Good’s model of building community through friends inviting friends to join has created a network of over 170 women and proved we are really open to all. Our attend when you can took on another dimension when we found new ways to connect doing good and meeting at virtual and in-person socials to build community.
13 Nonprofits + 900 woman hours = $42,500
Working closely with 13 local nonprofits, we created a variety of projects that addressed client needs where and when help is needed. From welcome bags and lunches for homeless shelters, to toiletries, menstrual products and activities for children, diapers for babies, basic items for formerly incarcerated women, and a walk to end the stigma of mental health – our members generously responded to the causes that spoke to their hearts.
Our collective giving since the first project in my dining room in August 2019, totals $84,780 to 21 nonprofits. AMAZING!
Grateful to each of you!
Social4gooders, I am proud of the course our members took this past year and am excited about the opportunity to build on our accomplishments in year 3. Our collective investment in Social4Good and our Northern Virginia community truly made a difference.
